"Upgrade to vBulletin"
«
on:

Hate it when I see something like that.
"Upgrade to vBulletin".
Why can't all those vBulletin lovers understand that it's not "upgrade" to vBulletin, but "change" to vBulletin.
They're always saying it is the best, and not it is the best in their opinion.
Yes, perhaps it has the best features, great support and so on.
But they really need to understand that it's not the best in all circumstances.
</end rant>

i use vbulletin so does that mean i suck? lol and compared to where smf features and vbulletin features are, smf stands no chance, they dont get as much funding as vbulletin - vbulletin is the paid software so yes of course they get like 100x more funding for new projects
in my opinion vbulletin is safer, has more mods, and easier to use

No, you dont suck.. lol, i was just joking, i also used to use vbullitin, untill smf cam out, I like it alot better, not as many mods, or as much funding but that dont matter.. maybe your right, it is better, blah blah blah. but i like vbullitin What would you think is better? that or the very new, not evn released to public yet
But i have it.. phpBB 3 :O.. You should check that out.. i could get you the download file for you to try it.. if you wanted..

Actually I believe that SMF 2.0 will come close to vB though.
Also, everybody can download phpBB 3

these are all trying to get close to vbulletin and other paid softwares, i doubt this will happen until they start charging like ipb or vb. they still dont have enough funding to do most of the stuff. like in vb, the templates are in the database which is pretty cool
and when do you say come close to vb, what do you mean?

With features (althoug I'm not sure what features vB has).
but SMF 2.0 will have custom profile fields, post moderation, warning system,... all build in.
I'm pretty sure vB has all these features as well, so that's why i said that SMF will come close to vB (and ahead of phpBB, MyBB,..).
SMF 2.0 looks very promising imho.

yea they have warning systems and etc. and most mods installed on vb needs few template edits, they are all plugins with .xml extensions where you can disable and enable click clicking a checkbox in admin panel
will it have a moderator control panel? i know p hpbb has one but its a lot of changing codes in there
