Wrote a second small article about the importance of the design of your forum.

Yes good article.  I think it can also be a good idea to have multiple templates so users can choose.  Although it is kinda hard as I have found out if you have installed alot of hacks and mods.

Glad to hear you like it Smile
And installing mods/hacks on all templates can indeed be difficult and annoying.

But I also believe that allowng members to chose the theme depends a bit on the topic of your forum.
If it's just general or eg a graphics forum then I would get multiple templates, but not for a professional forum or eg the support forum for a product or something like that.
On the other hand... if it's a support forum then you probably won't have many mods installed. So getting new themes is probably just a matter of uploading them.

Yeah, mods are a pain in the butt! What I did was to offer my members a chance to choose some themes they like & send me URL's of where I can download them. This way I could install some of the themes they chose & then do all my mods one shot.

Also tried that on my other forum, but didn't get much response.
So I chose a few myself and installed those Smile

Thats a good idea!  I think we are just going to stick with one at ours way too many hacks installed.
