Gamers Forum is a forum opened last august. Has 194 members currently with 8200+ posts, aiming for 10,000 by end of this month in over 900+ topics already opened.  55+ posts per day and currently running a domain contest, i know its really off topic but i have gotten many suggestions to do that.  more information in the following topic http://www.gamers-forum.com/index.php?topic=938.0 -- It is also smf forum like this forum here Smile

Seeking new members, hopefully i'll see some of you there, some are already on, always can use more Smile

Your forum looks very good!  The theme works great for a gaming theme, and you avoided the pitfalls I see a lot of dark sites where it is either too hard to read or too hard to look at for a long period of time.  Nice!

I also clicked on a few posts and see that you are active in your own community, which is great.

The only suggestion I have is to try and minimize how far you have to scroll to see your whole forum.  You could combine some similar forums that are not as active such as racing and sports, or else make some of the less used ones sub-forums. Perhaps a major category of action games could have subforums of shooters, racing, sports, etc.  Just an idea. 

Congrats on such a great forum!

yea thanks, well the entertainment board im going to put together and make into sub boards later, i've had suggestions for that, thanks, almost 150 posts yesterday almost 100 today so activity is decent Smile

200+ members now
1000+ topics now
most users ever online this month -- 54
10,000+ posts now, achieved that earlier today Smile
directory is a PR3 also.
almost 2000 posts for this month already Smile

yeah, it'll be the second month in 2007 to have 2000+ posts in one months, last time was january with almost 2500 posts -- february was slow, about 1500 lol, but its all good and working out.

here is a little update:

members: 217 (got 6 yesterday)
post: 11,200+ Smile
topics: 1,100+

so far in april we have over 80 topics in over 1100 posts Smile everything is going great.

we will be running a free contest where you can get free games, Steam related, ex. counter strike, day of defeat and half life will be given out.  several will be given out so be sure to enter if you can Smile

well we have shopmod added -- we will allow users to purchase steam games for free with the points, it wont be cheap though because it does cost me money, $10 for cs, dod, and halflife, $20 for css, dods, and half life 2.  so basically you just shop with the points later.  more than one winner and i wont give out unlimited games lol.  maybe 2 $20 worth and 3 $10 worth unless i can get more funding or sponsors for it.

we have 218 members now, 7 in the past 2 days. 

p.s. the contest will be launched sometime next week or at the start of may, im still putting things together

On May 1st i have opened the new Steam Give-A-Way contest and gave my members the chance to win a free game from steam via points on the forum.  Due to lack of time this month I wasnt able to advertise this new contest on all my regular places.  This has been a busy month for me.

This contest does cost us money so don't expect to get the game with double digit post count.  The games cost from $10-$20 and the points per game differs as price per game changes. 

This is an on going contest for a while now.  And it will only stop when I run out of funding for giving out the games.  Lets just say I can have at least 6 winners for now Big grin. 

Getting points are easy - you can get a max of 5 GFP (Gamers Forum Points) for each post and sometimes It is highered depending on occasion or just randomly.

another update, today we recieved over 250 posts in one day, a new high, we have now 263 members, new members are coming in for the contest Smile we had 190 users online 2 days ago and its looking great, almost 1000 posts this past week, from june 1st to june 7th Smile

we lost about 4000 posts in a server cash along with 40 something members in late june - but we came back and converted to vBulletin and now we have an arcade Smile be sure to visit back here, we are bigger and better than ever now
