Stryders Community is on online set of forums designed for all sorts of topics and enjoyment.

History: The original conception came from a question I recieved back in the year 2002. That question was about Snitz Forum software and how to set forums up. At the time I hadn't any idea how this was done, but I wanted to help and had some time on my hands. Within the week, Stryders Community was born using Snitz ASP forum software to be a trial run. Now having done it, I was ready to help with the request, but something else happened. I actually had members signing up. At the time I was already a member of specific targeted forums, (mostly Macintosh related, so I decided the main theme of mine would be rather none at all. For all the specific sites out there, I wanted mine to be for those that wanted something more general and more for themselves.

In 2003 there was a massive update that we underwent. We moved from the asp based Snitz to the PHP based Invision Board software. Thanks to our member Kahloz for all the work he did in merging the two forms together so we wouldn't lose any of our member info and creating such an upgrade to the site. Along with that came new hosting and he installed the original Arcade we had. About a year ago, a virus swept in and caused some havoc, so it was time to upgrade again. The cause was outdated software had a security leak, (hate those).

Now, there was another major overhaul and we've added a better arcade, plus many, many more new features. There will be more to come as well, but that will depend on you and all our other members. You may wonder why I make that statement, but it's a very simple concept to me. A "community" is based on the people in it. The growth, the laws, the atmospere is all dependant on it's people making their voices heard. Whether it's myself or our wonderful moderators, there is always an open door.

 Welcome to the Neighborhood. wink
